The Candler Building is a skyscraper at the southern end of Times Square in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, New York, U.S. Located at 220 West 42nd Street, the 24-story building was designed by the firm of Willauer, Shape and Bready in the Spanish Renaissance style. It was constructed between 1912 and 1913 for Coca-Cola Company owner Asa Griggs Candler. The Candler Building was one of the last skyscrapers built in New York City before the 1916 Zoning Resolution, which required setbacks. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The building consists of two sections: a 24-story rectangular tower to the north, facing 42nd Street, and a shorter 17-story rear wing to the south, facing 41st Street.

How we make money

These sites are free to use. Many links to flights, hotels, products and services are affiliate links. If you click one and make a booking or purchase, the company may pay us a commission. It never adds to the price you pay.

We work with affiliate networks such as Travelpayouts. We don't charge companies to be listed, and partners can't pay to change our tips or advice. Commission can affect which companies appear on the site.

Prices and availability shown by partners change quickly, so always check the final price before you book. Fares and prices shown on our pages may be cached and out of date.

Our money, energy and broadband pages give general information and simple calculators only. They are not financial advice, and we don't currently compare insurance, loans or other regulated financial products.

Other companies

Some content loads straight from other companies, who can see your IP address when it does: fonts from Google Fonts, photos from Wikipedia and Wikimedia, and partner search widgets. When you click an affiliate link, the partner and the affiliate network (for example Travelpayouts) record the visit so we can be paid. Their own privacy policies apply from that point.
