The New Amsterdam Theatre is a Broadway theater at 214 West 42nd Street, at the southern end of Times Square, in the Theater District of Manhattan in New York City, New York, U.S. One of the first Broadway venues to open in the Times Square neighborhood, the New Amsterdam was built from 1902 to 1903 to designs by Herts & Tallant. The theater is operated by Disney Theatrical Productions and has 1,702 seats across three levels. Both the Beaux-Arts exterior and the Art Nouveau interior of the building are New York City landmarks, and the building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The theater's main entrance is through a 10-story wing facing north on 42nd Street, while the auditorium is in the rear, facing south on 41st Street. The facade on 42nd Street is made of gray limestone and was originally ornamented with sculptural detail; the rest of the facade is made of brick.

How we make money

These sites are free to use. Many links to flights, hotels, products and services are affiliate links. If you click one and make a booking or purchase, the company may pay us a commission. It never adds to the price you pay.

We work with affiliate networks such as Travelpayouts. We don't charge companies to be listed, and partners can't pay to change our tips or advice. Commission can affect which companies appear on the site.

Prices and availability shown by partners change quickly, so always check the final price before you book. Fares and prices shown on our pages may be cached and out of date.

Our money, energy and broadband pages give general information and simple calculators only. They are not financial advice, and we don't currently compare insurance, loans or other regulated financial products.

Other companies

Some content loads straight from other companies, who can see your IP address when it does: fonts from Google Fonts, photos from Wikipedia and Wikimedia, and partner search widgets. When you click an affiliate link, the partner and the affiliate network (for example Travelpayouts) record the visit so we can be paid. Their own privacy policies apply from that point.
